Jingle Bells!Jingle Bells

Its Christmas time yet again! And its everyone's favourite time of the year. Till today I haven't met anybody who does not get excited hearing the word Christmas. I remember my hubby telling in June...yayayayay 'Its only 6 more months for Christmas'.. Such is the excitement I say!!
The shopping malls in Dubai started displaying winter clothing. The celebrations here start as early as in October. The Filipino family  stays next door decorated their home in November first week itself. All the  shopping malls there is a big Christmas tree put up.

Me ,hubby and little gaby(my son) put up the Christmas decorations at my home as well. I am travelling to Kerala on 26th December. Its Gaby's First Birthday on Jan 3rd. My parents wont be around on his birthday. So to compensate that me and gaby will spend some time  with them  towards the year end.

Rewinding the year 2012, it has been good. Last year's Christmas gift was my son (though the delivery of the gift was a bit late.. :) ). Soon I am hitting 30.. don't know whether to feel good or bad about it.. (But generally i feel sad about that fact! How did you feel ?)

Its time for some  home made wine, plum cake, cutlets,Carol songs, winter clothing..In Kerala its time for weddings post Christmas.I have 3 major functions to attend.2 are confirmed and other one is in pipeline.Ok !Ok! Let me not get too much excited about the whole thing... :)

Here is picture I took during my recent trip to Thailand.(Not a complete picture. But wanted to post it anyway!)

Wishing you All A Merry Christmas and A Wonderful New Year!

Continued from here  :

From that year onwards ,  during Christmas I have tried in my best ways to decorate my home.

During one of the Xmas over the years, I learned that making A Crib or Decorating a Xmas tree is not for others to see or admire how good or bad it is. Its for keeping our faith and to spread the joy of Happiness around us.

Years went by, I had to move to Bangalore for my graduation. Post Graduation, Work, Marriage,Relocation to Dubai, Again Back to Bangalore ,Again  to Dubai  and now A Kid , all theses things happened during the course of time with a pinch of sweetness and bitterness as well..

Nowadays, I am contemplating as to where would I keep the Xmas tree this time as I have a toddler who is getting naughtier day by day. But at the same time I smile to myself thinking I have more reasons to celebrate Xmas and in a way I can reprise and  reminisce my own childhood having my kiddo around... :)

A November Memory/ Xmas delights

To this day, I can feel the pain I went thru when I had to shift my house to another place. It was in Nov 1994 when I was in my 7th std. I remember sleeping the last night thinking this is my last night and almost in tears. That was the place where I was born, and spent my childhood...Leaving it was a very painful for me and my younger brother who was then 7 years old..

When I shifted to my new house, Xmas celebrations with friends in old home were missed terribly. Back in my old house, Xmas celebrations used to start much earlier with my neighbourhood kids and playmates. I  never owned a crib set and every year me and my bro used to spend much time making those small statues and of course every time it was futile.Somehow I managed to make sheep perfectly with plain paddy-field clay whicc were of no use and found its place in the trash eventually. Imagine A nativity scene, only with sheep..!!!

Pomegranate Tree

The first ever Xmas tree was made  by my elder brother in my locality. I still remember , the decorations on that tree were with cigarette packets and Xmas greeting card cut outs which my elder bro beautifully made. The decorations were put on a pomegranate tree in our garden  which never bore fruit until we moved out from there, though it used to blossom once in a  while (Blame on the Kerala Weather).

Nutmeg Tree

But in our new House, which was facing  a paddy field, and with no electricity(it took sometime to get electricity in the new house) me and my brother sulked when Xmas approached. Our main dilemma was , even if we put up a big Xmas tree who is there to see it? as we had just one neighbour's house nearby and acres of Paddy Fields facing our house. But still every year we did put up Xmas decorations on a nutmeg tree .
